A regular series where we feature our listeners’ church talks from all around the world.
Speaker #1: Corbin Volluz
Corbin Volluz lives in the beautiful foothills of the Cascade Mountains in western Washington state. He has been practicing law for 25-years with a focus on criminal defense and personal injury. Corbin joined the LDS Church in June of 1978, shortly after the lifting of the priesthood ban, and has been studying Mormonism ever since. He has been published in several venues, including the Journal of Book of Mormon Studies and BYU-Studies. He is currently a permablogger at Rational Faiths.
Speaker # 2: Emily Thorne
Emily was born to a recently divorced mother and grew up in a fairly dysfunctional environment, but attended the LDS church consistently. She bucked the stereotype of engaging in the dysfunctional cycle by marrying her best friend, earning her General Studies degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and became a lifelong explorer of places, ideas, and people. She loves snorkeling, crocheting, and getting lost in Jane Austen novels. Her faith in Heavenly Parents has not changed since she was a child. She currently lives in Florida with her husband of ten years. Her talk was delivered in the Boca Raton Ward on June 29, 2014.
Speaker # 3: Brian Dillman
Brian was born and raised in Northern Utah and is now working as a chemist in Ohio. He has one wife and three children. He currently serves as the ward YM president. He likes to eat good food, and build cool things.
